Chef Jim has another exciting season planned for 2017. The biggest surprise of the year is that the Chef is in the middle of finishing cookbook #5, "Soup On The Porch"! He said he was done after #3, "Hors d'oeuvres On The Porch," but two years later, he had completed "Simple Meals On The Porch", which was again, "my last cookbook", and now we've got "Soup On The Porch!" "Soup On The Porch" is a collection of 60 wonderful soup recipes organized by season to take advantage of local and fresh produce available at different times of the year. It's scheduled to be released Memorial Day weekend 2017. I do believe that this is really the last cookbook.
In addition to the cookbook, Chef Jim has four dinner classes planned for the 2017 summer season. The first dinner class is Thursday, June 29, in Gail and Jim Beck's beautiful home overlooking Lake Michigan. Another three classes follow, one each month in a different home in the Frankfort area. Click on the "Enroll/Contact Us" tab to enroll in any or all of the dinner classes or click on the "Dinner Classes" tab for more information.
The 2017 season also includes two new delicious classes for the Oliver Art Center. Join Chef Jim for "Soups for All Seasons" on July 10 when the Chef will demonstrate several wonderful soup recipes from his new cookbook, "Soup On The Porch." The second Oliver Art Center Class is scheduled for August 14 and covers everyone's favorite meal, brunch. Click on the "Art Center Classes and More" tab for more information.
Private cooking classes and dinner parties are also on the menu for 2017. If you're interested in hosting a private class, please use the feedback form under the "Enroll/Contact Us" tab above and send us a note.
All four (soon to be five) of Chef Jim's cookbooks continue to be available in several retail stores in Northwest Michigan including The Bookstore in Frankfort and Crystal Crate & Cargo in Beulah. More information on the cookbooks can be found by clicking on the "Cookbooks" tab above.
