"Soups for All Seasons" with Chef Jim Voltz
Soup is one of the most versatile and best loved dishes a cook can put on the table. It can be served hot or cold. It can be a hearty soup that makes a meal, a lighter starter course, a side dish, or even a dessert. This class will show home cooks how to take advantage of local fresh produce, no matter what the season, to create wonderfully flavorful soups. Chef Jim will demonstrate three of his favorites and students will have a chance to sample all of them. Students will go home with great new ideas and a copy of Chef Jim Voltz's new cookbook, "Soup on the Porch."
Monday, August 14, 2:00 p,m. to 4:00 p.m.
"Brunch" with Chef Jim Voltz
Join Chef Jim as he demonstrates some of his favorite recipes for brunch parties. Students will learn just how versatile this meal can be and how perfect it is for entertaining a crowd. Students will have a chance to sample all dishes including an appropriate brunch cocktail. All the recipes demonstrated in this class will be taken from Chef Jim Voltz's second cookbook, "Brunch on the Porch" and students will receive a copy of the cookbook during class.
